"I would rather have a mind opened by curiosity, than closed by beliefs."
"Just when I thought I figured it out, life happens again, challenging my beliefs that stretched my previous understanding and personal growth. I grew up believing in a punitive, controlling God that demanded my blind obedience. On my way through life, an nagging sense of discomfort warned me that something didn't feel right. I contemplated some more and investigated my feelings; I soon recognized that God doesn't live outside of me. I cannot find Him in books, churches or scriptures; these things can only guide me towards Him. After questioning my beliefs, I realized that I experience God every times I give a friendly hug, a smile, or a helping hand to someone in need; when I laugh, dance, and celebrate life; when I carry his Love in my heart.
Just the other day, I went to the Water Store with my husband. It was Sunday morning and the store was closed. However we could use the machine in the store lobby to fill up our two 5 gallons bottles of water. The instructions were unclear and we struggled with them a bit. We were in a rush to get out, when an elderly couple came in. They spoke a foreign language. I knew right away they would have a hard time to understand the instructions. As Luke was putting the water bottles in the car, I decided to wait a moment to see if they were okay. Both were struggling to understand how the water machine worked. I gently asked if they needed my help. I was so happy to help them, and explained the process a few times. The couple were so grateful, they showered me with many thanks. It felt good to have taken the time to assist them. This is a very simple story of Love in action, God's work.
The words 'Good and Love', are just other words for God. How I came to know this? One day I was sitting in my favourite chair, fully present, I was contemplating Life, and for no specific reason, an empowering feeling of Love entered my heart, and I felt GOoD. I knew at that instant the truth about God.
We don’t see Love and yet, we know that It exists.
How do we know that It exists, we feel Love, and It feels GOoD.
It’s the same experience with God.
We don’t see God. We feel God.
We know that God exists because we feel GOoD.
Good and God is one and the same.
When you feel Good, you feel God.
And when you feel God, you feel Good."
