I would rather have a mind opened by wonder, than closed by belief. The truth is, just when I thought I figured it all out, life happened again, challenging my beliefs that stretched my previous understanding and personal growth. I grew up believing in a masculine, punitive, controlling God that demanded my blind obedience. On my way through life, an nagging sense of discomfort warned me that something was wrong, and an internal war started between my self and beliefs. The idea of God generally depends on our culture, experiences, circumstances, and upbringing. The belief that God was outside of me robbed me of my connection with divinity, truth and real self. I contemplated some more and investigated deeply my feelings and recognized that God does not live outside of me. He doesn't live in books, churches or scriptures. God lives within each one of us. We are part of the vast Universe, drops of God's-essence. We do not rational God, we feel God. To me, LOVE and GOD is one and the same. After many years of questioning where I came from and who I am, I realized that my heart truly knows best, it knows from a deep place. The heart is pure, good and spiritual. It knows how to feel GOoD. The human heart is the path to freedom. It’s our connection to God, to the universe, to humanity. We are the Love we carry in our heart. We don’t have to search for God, because if we are here on this Earth, God is too. We experience God every day, when we give a hug or a hand shake and truly mean it, when we laugh, dance, and celebrate who we are, and when we see someone struggling and go out of our way to help them. God lives within our hearts. We share Him every day when we share love, when we take the time to say I LOVE YOU and truly mean it. Good actions come from the power of love, therefore God.
Just the other day I went to the Water Store with my husband. It was Sunday morning and the store was closed. However we could use the machine in the store lobby to fill up our two 5 gallons bottles of water. The instructions were unclear and we struggled with them a bit. We were in a rush to get out, when an elderly couple came in. They spoke a foreign language. I knew right away they would have a hard time to understand the instructions. As Luke was putting the water bottles in the car, I decided to wait a moment to see if they were okay. Both were struggling to understand how the water machine worked. I gently asked if they needed my help. I was so happy to help, and explained the process a few times. The couple were so grateful, they showered me with many thanks. It felt good to have taken the time to assist them. This is a very simple story of Love in action, still it was God's work.
The words Good, Joy, and Love, are just other words for God. How I came to know this? One day I was sitting in my favorite chair, fully present, I was contemplating Life, and for no specific reason, an empowering feeling of Love and Joy entered my heart, and I felt GOoD. I knew at that instant the truth about God.
We don’t see Joy and yet, we know that It exists.
How do we know that It exists, we feel Joy, and It feels GOoD.
We don’t see Love and yet, we know that It exists.
How do we know that It exists, we feel Love, and It feels GOoD.
It’s the same experience with God.
We don’t see God. We feel God.
We know that God exists because we feel GOoD.
Good and God is one and the same.
When you feel Good, you feel God.
And when you feel God, you feel Good.
Love & live in JOY,
Nancy
